Purpose of the Compliance Hotline

The Hotline is to ensure the timely identification and resolution of all issues that may adversely affect Residents/Patients, Families, and Employees, and/or The Good Samaritan Home facility.

Employees are strongly encouraged to report problems and concerns via the chain of command or the Human Resources Department before resorting to the Hotline; however, this communication channel is always available if special circumstances exist or their issue is not being properly addressed.

The Hotline is one of several communication channels to report problems and concerns. Employees are expected to report problems or concerns either anonymously or in confidence via the Hotline or by placing a written note into one of the two, locked metal “Compliance” boxes.

All employees are responsible for reporting misconduct, including actual or potential violations of law, regulation, policy, procedure, or The Good Samaritan Home’s Standards of Conduct.

A telephone Hotline permits employees and others to report problems and concerns anonymously by leaving their recorded message. If they choose to identify themselves, their confidentiality will be protected to the limit of the law.

Employees who report problems and concerns will be protected from any form of retaliation or retribution. Any employee who commits or condones any form of retaliation will be subject to discipline up to and including termination.

The Home’s Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO) is responsible for the operation and management of the Hotline and will act with utmost discretion and integrity in ensuring that all information received is acted upon in a reasonable and proper manner.

Hotline Disclaimer

This channel of communication is not intended to prevent or discourage anyone from contacting the Indiana State Department of Health to voice a complaint about the care or services provided by the Home, or to notify the Long Term Care Ombudsman, Adult Protective Services or any Social Service agencies.
